The Effect of Nutrition Education With Media Booklets on Eating Patterns and Incidence of Dyspepsia in Budi Bakti Samarinda High School
Abstract
Dyspepsia is a digestive problem that often occurs in the productive age group. The Efforts to reduce the incidence of dyspepsia require were education and health promotion about the causative factors and risks of dyspepsia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrition education using booklet media on eating patterns and the incidence of dyspepsia in Class X and XI SMA Budi Bakti Samarinda. The research design was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test without a control group. This study used a total sampling of 34 people. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires and food frequency questionnaire interviews and using the Wilcoxon for statistic test. The results showed that there was an effect of nutrition education using booklet media on irritating food types (p-value = 0.000), incidence of dyspepsia (p-value = 0.000), eating habits (p-value = 0.000), and there’s no effect of media education booklet on meal frequency (p-value = 0.091), meal time (p-value = 0.109). The conclusion of the study is that there is an effect of nutrition education using booklet media on irritating food types, incidence of dyspepsia, eating habits and there is no effect of nutrition education using booklet media on meal times and frequency of eating in students who suffer from dyspepsia in class X and XI SMA Budi Bakti Samarinda.
