Abstract

Nutritional status can be directly affected the dietary intake, so in order to maintain the nutritional status of students, Islamic boarding schools must provide a good food management system. Data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) showed that nutritional problems in East Kalimantan still occur in children aged 13-15 years, namely 4.5% severely thinnes, 5.3% thinnes, 13.6% overweight, 5% obese. The purpose of this study was determine the relationship between consumption levels and the nutritional status of students at the Nabil Husein Islamic Boarding School in Samarinda. This study used cross-sectional design with a proportionate stratified random sampling method and was conducted in May-July 2024 with 180 people. Consumption level data was measured using a 2x24-hour food recall form and nutritional status with BMI/A indicators using digital scales and microtoise. This statistical test used the Chi-square test with a significance level of α = 5%. There were a significant relationship between the level of energy, protein, fat consumption (p <0.05) and nutritional status. However, there was no significant relationship between the level of carbohydrate consumption (p>0.05) and the nutritional status of students at the Nabil Husein Islamic Boarding School in Samarinda.
