Literature study at the Pasundan Health Center in 2022, about 61.8% out of 89 diabetic patients had poor knowledge. Result study in 2023 showed that all of 44 patient had inadequate fiber intake. This research aims to determine the effect of nutrition education using pocket books on nutritional knowledge and fiber intake. Design of this study was quasy experimental with pre- and post-test control group design. The research was conducted at the Pasundan Health Center involving 36 diabetic patients who suffered from type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The experimental group given education using pocket book media, meanwhile the control group had no media twice a week. The instruments used were knowledge questionnaire, 2x24h recall form and a food photo book. Statistical test used were paired sample t-test to analyze knowledge between control and intervention group, while Wilcoxon test was used to analyse the fiber intake. The research results showed there was differences in knowledge before and after education with p-value <0.05. Most of the respondent in the experimental group before intervention fall into sufficient knowledge and increase to had good knowledge after intervention. The control group was from the inadequate to sufficient category. Increasing knowledge also showed in control group, but less than intevention group. The fiber intake showed significant increasing with p-value <0.05. The increasing of fiber intake in the experimental group was greater than in control group (respectively 2.49 grams and 1.59 grams). The increase was greater with media, especially using pocketbook.
